Intro to accessing T for the downtown Torontonian.
t for a week. .5 mg per 2 weeks. upping in a few weeks.
eating a lot.
a few pimples in odd places. the top of my ear. my butt.
is my voice deeper? you tell me. -smile-
my dick is staying harder longer. before it was like, hard after i come, but now it it's hard before i come.
i'm not sure if it's bigger or just more firm.
i didn't tell my parents yet. i told my mom that i think i'm a boy, and i think she told my father.
gender journeys is over. staying friends. i think the trans community is a potentially radicalizable group.
me: recently i've been examining my negative communication patterns. i have depression, and when i meet life stressors, i tend to act in very defensive and cynical ways. the three axes of depression for me are cynicism, defensiveness, and aggression. i'm trying to monitor my own behavior and change it, be'cause it hurts people i love.
dr. bloch at 80 bond street. last time i talked to him about 2 months ago, he asked me if i minded other doctors seeing me, because apparently they are especially interested in looking at the hormonal transition of ftms. so if you are an ftm in the downtown toronto area, contact dr bloch at 80 bond street. google health centre at 80 bond street.
while you are waiting for an appointment with the doctors at 80 bond, call planned parenthood of toronto and get yourself on the waitinglist for a psychiatrist. the doctors at 80 bond might ask for psychiatrists' notes to ensure that you do not have a psychiatric disturbance. in my mind, the majority of people seeking transitional health care know what they want, and have come to this step having done a lot of soul-examining. so it appears to be an unnecessary hurdle. but the service is free. so get on the list because it can take up to 9 months before PPT calls you.
if you go to any sort of post-secondary school, they should have free psychiatric care. call very soon to get on the waiting list. i know my school (uoft) has one.
70 dollars for 10 shots, which will last 3 months.
As my dosage is upped, it will last 2.5 months.
i kno uoft health insurance, as well as Ontario Works medical insurance, overs injectible T. Not sure whether UofT covers other forms of T.
What's next for me? I'm waiting for my next shot and for more effects to set in. I also have an appointment with CAMH. I will let you know how that goes. I don't feel very confident about it since I don't have any Real Life Documents aside for a school record gender change.
